What is Watermarking in Azure Virtual Desktop?
Watermarking in Azure Virtual Desktop is an optional feature designed to enhance screen capture protection. It acts as a deterrent against data leakage by displaying QR codes on the session desktop, which embed the session user's Activity ID. This helps enterprises trace potential data leaks and ensures that sensitive information is not easily captured or shared from client endpoints.
How do I enable Watermarking support?
To enable watermarking support in Azure Virtual Desktop, you need to download and add administrative templates for Azure Virtual Desktop. This feature is configured at the session-host level and is enforced on the client side. For detailed instructions, you can refer to the setup guide available on the Microsoft Learn platform.
Which clients support Watermarking?
Currently, watermarking support in Azure Virtual Desktop is available on the Microsoft Remote Desktop Client for both desktops and the web. Only clients that support this feature can connect to the remote session, ensuring that the watermarking capabilities are effectively utilized.
